• Learn how grantmaking works
• Travel for training + grant assessment (1x/year)
• Bi-annual team meetings
• Attend a national Gathering (1x/year)

• Ongoing networking with youth & funders

What’s a Steering Committee & Why Does It Matter?
At Ontario Indigenous Youth Partnership Project (OIYPP), our team thrives with the guidance of strong, dedicated leadership.
That’s where the Steering Committee comes in — a voluntary advisory group that plays a BIG role in helping us stay focused, impactful, and accountable (even though it holds no legal power).

 What does the Steering Committee do?

• Shapes the OIYPP’s goals & strategy
• Helps build budgets & work plans
• Supports fundraising & resource development
• Recruits & evaluates Project Directors
• Tracks progress & outcomes

The Chair of the Steering Committee works closely with MakeWay’s management to ensure everything stays on track and aligned with our values.
Because behind every successful Project… is a great team of advisors!
